"Brides, October/November, Get Inspired!
"The October/November issue of BRIDES magazine marked our first-ever flip cover. The front cover featured a beautiful bride in a delicately ornate wedding gown and whimsical bouquet, and the back cover featured a close up on a stunning veiled woman. The back cover focused on the woman’s facial attributes for our special bonus Beauty Issue, which included a step-by-step beauty regimen to help women look and feel their best for their big day. BRIDES is the ultimate resource for brides to planning and enjoying every step toward their big day and beyond.""
I like this (these) portrait(s) because there is a good center focus. The darker part of the back ground is toward the edges, while the lightest part is around the subject. They both are simple, and they have a nice pop of color with the pink.
#4 Magazine II
In and image based magazine cover, you should think about having your subject in the center of attention. You can use the rule of thirds, but it takes away from the center, which is where people look first on a magazine. For a more dramatic affect, make your subject look off camera, rather than straight towards you as a formal picture. Illustration based magazine covers want to show something funny, or out of the ordinary rather than straight up. Type based magazine covers are rare, but they have a powerful feel to them. It's how the font effects the person. Concept based magazines, can be a mix of all three types of covers. The type of concept really depends on the audience, and how they will take in the concept.
